Core hours are when the majority of the team is online and working together. This applies to in-office and remote workers. Core hours are important for team cohesion and communication consistency.
Every employee is expected to commit to their hourly agreement, or for salaried employees, an average of 40 hours a week.
For the purpose of this document, North America comprises all employees in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. International consists of all countries outside of the intercontinental North America times zones.
Core North America Hours
10am-4pm PT
If you live in North America you are expected to be logged into Slack and be available from these times. This timeframe only covers 6 hours to give a 2 hour flex for other time zones.
Core International Hours
International workers should adjust their 8 hour day to catch beginning of or the tail end of the North American Hours.
Platform Up-time Hours
As part of being a salaried employee, Engineer leads who are responsible for the services they own are expected to be on call 24/7 in event of an emergency.
Out of Office
All employees, remote or in-office, must mark out of office times in their company Google calendar. If you are taking more than 2 hours out of a day, you must submit Time Off.
Paid Time Off
Time off must be approved by your manager. Time off should be submitted through your Trinet login: https://trinet.hrpassport.com/ui-timeoff/
Holidays
We follow the US holiday schedule with one exception, we exchange Columbus Day with Black Friday (the day following Thanksgiving). International employees may choose to follow this or can opt to follow the Holidays of their religion or their Country. North American employees may also follow their own Religious holidays, but are still limited to 9 days a year.
